Duties. Installs, operates, and maintains simulation computer workstations and networks to support simulation based events. Provides instruction and maintains a variety of computer based training for simulations/models administration. Performs simulation systems administration and integration in an exercise environment, supporting exercise design, planning preparation, and execution to include post-exercise events such as capturing and maintaining all exercise data for later analysis/training. Provides analysis of emerging simulation technologies against stated requirements. Documents the salient characteristics and capabilities of the system(s) being evaluated and their relevance to Marine Corps or Joint simulation training. Coordinates, prepares, monitors, and evaluates simulation test plans and events. Responsible for the interoperability of assorted simulation hardware and software components necessary for model and simulation driven exercises. May be called upon to edit software/hardware documentation. Must be capable of system administration in an HP/UNIX, Linux, and NT/Win2000 computer operating, network environment. Shall be knowledgeable in distributed simulation protocols/communication technologies and networking requirements to support remote operations conducted at various selected sites. Serves as the lead contractor for simulation federation hardware and software requirements. Possesses experience with integration of government-purchased simulation support hardware/software at government training sites.
Civilian Education. The individual performing this requirement must have completed a BS or BA degree, subject immaterial, have a background of at least (8) eight years' experience with Military training and training support; have had experience in technical support and training requirements at Brigade or higher level; have a minimum of (8) eight years' experience or equivalence in integrating training environments, planning network and simulation architectures and stimulation of Army MCSs in support of unit training events and distributed exercises, and possess all required technical certifications.
Military Education. Individual must fully understand the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assess and Authorize process and Cyber Security requirements. This individual must have a SECRET Clearance.
Military/Government Experience. Minimum three years of experience in DoD modeling and simulation (Masters Degree in Modeling and Simulation can be substituted) and computer network administration. Previous experience with JCATS/JDLM or other distributable simulations is preferred. Requires at least one year experience in federating simulations to include both aggregate and entity level simulations as well as virtual simulators or avatar environments. Experience employing the JLVC Federation is desirable.
Proof of Security Clearance. Must be eligible for at least a secret clearance
