Position Description
Valiant Integrated Services is looking for an experienced, highly skilled Observer Controller Communication System (OCCS) Electronic Technician Maintenance II to join our professional team at Fort Polk, La, providing support to the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) Maintenance Program (ATMP).
ATMP brings to bear the full capabilities of many of the world's best systems integration and engineering companies in the technical integration of live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training support.
Primary System : OCCS (Harris L3 Simulcast and Master V System).
Essential Job Duties, includes but not limited to :
- Provide maintenance support to a variety of communication devices including, but not limited to : RF / TX repeaters hand held radios and base stations.
- Set-up, operates, maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (, radio, television, telecommunications, and navigational aids), and industrial and measuring equipment.
- May be required to apply technical knowledge of electronics principals in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations.
- Will support routine periodic maintenance and perform repairs as needed on equipment.
- Perform required documentation in accordance with established procedures; consults the shift lead for clarification of standard procedures and non-routine customer issues.
- Document all maintenance actions by inputting data in MIS.
- May receive technical guidance from senior level technicians.
- May be required to support other devices and will be cross-trained, as needed.
Position Requirements
Mental / Physical Requirements :
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and wear personal protective equipment when required.
- Must be able to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind and rain) and at heights (towers and phone poles, etc).
- Must be willing to work a flexible workweek.
- Must possess a valid state driver license and maintain post driving privileges.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active and valid US Secret security clearance. Those with current clearance are preferred.
- This position may require travel to other installations and other ATMP locations throughout CONUS and OCONUS.
Minimum Job Requirements :
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of recent electrical / electronic industrial work experience.
