VG is looking to hire a Safety Professional for its on-going Transmission and Substation project support in the Eastern PA region.* The candidate will provide safety oversite of Transmission and potentially substation work. This is a Long- Term Full-Time* position. Option of W-2 / 1099 plus Per Diem is available, if applicable . House worked per week will be from 40-60 hours per week. Hours over 40 will be paid on straight time status
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct risk assessments, accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Develop Safe Work Plans (SWPs) in conformance with the guidelines.·
- Perform safety and quality audits on regular basis. Audit electrical work specifically in compliance of NFPA 70E (2018), OSHA 1926 Subpart V - Electric Power Transmission and Distribution and OSHA 1910.269 - Electric power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Review all contract documents to be conversant with project safety and quality requirements.
- Ensure the safety of project site and all individuals including engineers, contractors, sub-contractors and staff members.
- Conduct meetings, briefings and discussions and provide inputs on safety related matters.
- Organize and maintain all Safety & Quality documents and records.
- Provide staff training on safety as and when required.
Qualification & Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of safety management experience on high voltage Transmission Projects Projects is required.
- Conduct risk assessments, accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Develop Safe Work Plans (SWPs) in conformance with the guidelines.·
- Perform safety and quality audits on regular basis. Audit electrical work specifically in compliance of NFPA 70E (2018), OSHA 1926 Subpart V - Electric Power Transmission and Distribution and OSHA 1910.269 - Electric power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Review all contract documents to be conversant with project safety and quality requirements.

- Must have experience working around Bulk Electrical System equipment.
- Highly Preferred - CSP, CUSP or other related safety certification.
- Associates / Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Must have 30-hour OSHA construction safety training.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and multi-tasking skills required.
- Well-versed with industry standards, regulations, and work practices.
Rates / Compensation:
- $60-80/hr based on qualifications and employment status Per Diem if applicabe
