Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will manage the identification and development of new business opportunities with current and potential customers and cultivate new markets, non-traditional markets and product line expansions, as well as expand geographic representation, representatives and distributors for Valiant products within assigned customer account(s) and locales.
Job Functions
- Develop customized sales strategies to respond to target customer(s);attend customer meetings and events to strengthen critical relationships andidentify expanded technical and commercial opportunities.
- Conduct analyses to identify and validate new business opportunitiesto increase sales in new applications or peripheral markets.
- Coordinate between customer engineers/representatives and Valiantinternal departments to assure customer specifications are accuratelytranslated to product design and all product concerns are resolved; managecorrespondence, reports, presentations, meeting preparations, travel, etc.required to facilitate timely and complete communications.
- Actively encourage the identification and cultivation of new marketpossibilities by networking and promoting relationships with potentialcustomers and distributors to identify specialty needs, market niches, andproduct trend information; attend industry events and trade conferences, set upsales presentations and exhibitions.
- Develop annual and quarterly Business Reviews, annual budgetsmanagement presentations, etc. to monitor and report on business activity andcommercial results and make timely adjustments as required.
- Provide support and counsel to upper management as requested regardingdeal negotiations, contract development, due diligence and otherbusiness/alliance development projects.
- Comply with Company policy and procedures, whether written orcommunicated verbally, including the instructions and directions fromindividuals in direct supervisory positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent combinationof education, training or experience is required for this position.
- Must have and maintain valid State driver’s license.

- Intermediate level computer skills (MS Office including Word,PowerPoint and Excel)

- Advanced negotiation skills
- Technical skills and understanding of sub-surface artificial liftequipment, applications, production, operations, drilling, workover and wellcompletions, pressure build/transient IPR analysis.
- Knowledge of traditional and non-traditional artificial lift markets,customers, contract structures.
- Advanced communication skills both oral and written; ability to produceand present persuasive sales presentations
- Advanced relationship building, networking, customer interfaceabilities and customer service orientation
- Advanced level problem solving skills
- Multi-cultural sensitivity and knowledge of protocol
- Perform work which requires sitting majority of the time with walking and standing required and periodic lifting, carrying and pushing up to 40 libs.
- Operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
- Routinely perform work on computer for an average of 3-4 hours per day, when necessary.
- Work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
- Capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
