Associate Accounting Coordinator (Lease Crude Accounting)

Valero is looking for an Associate Accounting Coordinator to join the Lease Crude Accounting team at the Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. Under direct supervision, this position pays operators and mineral interest owners each month, in addition to handling other banking and accounting related tasks. This position:

• Prepare and process wire, electronic, and check requests for payment of mineral interest royalties.
• Verify direct deposit forms per CASH Room procedures.
• Process and submit monthly reports and payments to federal and state exempt owners, the IRS withholding tax, and third-party vendors
• Void returned checks or ACH payments.
• Support preparation for end of year accurate reporting of 1099’s.
• Establish, maintain and resolve interest owner communications, payments, information tax returns, and other land-related or operator inquiries.
• Perform month-end close duties to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assists with special projects for management or other operational areas as needed.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio Headquarters, required.
• Bachelor's or higher level degree in Accounting (or Finance) preferred.
• Banking or related experience preferred.
• 1 - 3 years of Accounting experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
