We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to serve as the execution backbone of Valeris’s Innovation Pods. As Valeris transforms from a services business into a tech-enabled services company, the volume of capabilities moving through the pods is growing faster than any single product leader can personally shepherd. This role exists to scale the discipline that keeps that growth productive. The Senior Product Manager owns the backlog, requirements definition, and day-to-day delivery accountability across pod initiatives.
Where the VP product leaders set domain strategy and roadmap, the Senior Product Manager turns that direction into well-formed, buildable work — partnering with Operations SMEs to capture workflow reality, with Engineering to sequence and deliver, and with the Head of Innovation to keep the portfolio scored and moving. This role reports to the Head of Innovation and works across all three Innovation Pods.

This role reports to the Head of Innovation and works across all three Innovation Pods.
Key Responsibilities
Backlog & Requirements Ownership
- Own pod backlogs end to end — grooming, refinement, sequencing, and readiness — so engineering always has a clear, prioritized queue of well-defined work
- Translate operational pain points and market problems into clearly defined requirements, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria
- Maintain a single source of truth for what is being built, why, and what done means — keeping requirements current as solutions evolve
- Partner with Operations SMEs to ensure requirements reflect real-world workflow scenarios and edge cases
- Steward the Initiative Document process — helping authors define the problem, current-state impact, proposed solution, expected outcomes, complexity, and ROI
- Apply the prioritization scoring framework consistently — operational impact, patient and provider experience, scalability, complexity, speed to value, and strategic alignment
- Evaluate incoming requests against scoring criteria and the existing backlog, surfacing recommendations to the VP product leaders and Head of Innovation
- Protect the pods from becoming a backlog of competing priorities by enforcing the discipline that ideas alone are not sufficient to enter the roadmap
- Drive the pod operating rhythm — sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives — keeping teams focused and unblocked
- Own delivery accountability for committed work: tracking progress, managing scope, flagging risk early, and shipping on a predictable cadence
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies, including connections to Core Tech systems (Snowflake, Salesforce LSC, CRM platforms, Policy Reporter data) during migration periods
- Maintain the shared dependency log and escalate conflicts that cannot be resolved at the team level
- Define acceptance criteria before shadow mode begins, and coordinate validation of new capabilities against real cases alongside Operations and domain SMEs
- Manage the path from shadow mode to production, ensuring deployment requires sign-off from both Operations and Product leads
- Track post-deployment performance against the success measures defined in the Initiative Document, and feed learnings back into the backlog
- Establish and standardize product-owner practices — requirements templates, definition of ready/done, and backlog hygiene — that scale across the three pods
- Contribute to the unified portfolio view by keeping initiative status, dependencies, and delivery progress accurate and current
- Help establish how initiatives that genuinely span pods are owned, sequenced, and delivered without duplicated investment
- Mentor and, over time, help build out additional product-owner capacity as pod demand grows
- Act as a reliable bridge between Product, Operations, and Engineering — keeping all three functions aligned on what is being built and why
- Gather structured feedback from operational users and champion adoption of new workflows and capabilities
- Communicate delivery status, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to pod leads, the Head of Innovation, and client and buyer stakeholders
- Utilize Valeris’s values as the driving force behind the team’s success
- On time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures
- Ensure all SOPs are followed with consistency
- Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned
In This Role, You Will Help Valeris
- Keep a healthy, well-groomed, consistently scored backlog across the pods so capacity is always directed at the highest-value work
- Shorten the distance between a defined problem and a deployed capability through clear requirements and disciplined delivery
- Deliver capabilities on a predictable cadence, validated in shadow mode, with measurable outcomes against Initiative Document success measures
- Scale product-ownership discipline so the pods can absorb growing demand without losing speed or rigor
- Reduce rework and misalignment by ensuring engineering builds the right thing the first time
Required Experience
- 8 years in product ownership, product management, or delivery leadership, including hands-on backlog ownership for engineering teams building net-new capabilities
- Demonstrated success translating ambiguous operational or market problems into clear, buildable requirements, business rules, and acceptance criteria
- Strong command of agile delivery practices — sprint planning, backlog refinement, story writing, and managing delivery against a predictable cadence
- Experience working directly with engineering teams to sequence, scope, and ship software, and to manage cross-system dependencies
- Healthcare, life sciences, patient access, hub services, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, or patient support program experience, or a track record of ramping quickly in complex regulated domains
- Strong operational systems thinking and the ability to reason about workflows, edge cases, and exception handling
Preferred Experience
- Experience owning backlogs for AI-enabled, agentic, or automation-driven products
- Familiarity with intake, missing-information resolution, benefits investigation / verification, prior authorization, copay, PAP, or coverage-intelligence workflows
- Experience integrating with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), or API / abstraction-layer integration patterns
- Experience standing up or standardizing product-ownership practices across multiple teams
- Experience in SaaS, platform modernization, or services-to-product transformation environments
- Experience working in or alongside dedicated pod, squad, or protected-capacity delivery structures
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Prefer candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
- Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
We’re Committed To Supporting The Well-being And Success Of Our Team Members. As Part Of Our Organization, Full-time Employees Can Expect
- Medical, dental, and vision plans, including HSA- and FSA-eligible options, with Valeris contributing toward premium costs
- Additional health support, including telehealth and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services
- Company match on Health Savings Account contributions
- Free Basic Life and AD&D coverage equal to your annual earnings, with a minimum of $50,000 and a maximum of $300,000
- Company-paid Short-Term Disability coverage, with the option to purchase Long-Term Disability
- 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with 100% match on the first 5% you contribute, with immediate vesting
- Paid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave to support work-life balance
- Team members receive nine paid holidays plus two floating holidays
- Opportunities for advancement in a company that supports personal and professional growth
- A challenging, stimulating work environment that encourages new ideas
- Work for a company that values diversity and makes deliberate efforts to create an inclusive workplace
