Responsibilities
The Mobile Crisis Responder serves as part of an interdisciplinary team member on the Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Team. The primary function of the Mobile Crisis Responder is to provide rapid community-based services to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This role involves crisis intervention services, recovery-oriented approaches, and trauma informed care. The promotion of safety, resource allocation, and coordination of care are important aspects to this role. Responders strive to stabilize crises as defined by the individual served, in the least restrictive environment possible.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, preferred but not required, or an individual equally qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education.
- Experience with mental health diagnoses, individuals living with SPMI, unhoused individuals, and knowledge with substance use disorders is necessary.
- Although not required, case management and peer support experience and service delivery to individuals across the lifespan is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a KBI security check and DCF Child and Adult Abuse Registry check.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid Kansas driver’s license, and current auto insurance required.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, with accuracy and efficient typing skills.
- Must be able to complete required KsTrain online trainings and program trainings.
-Must be able to perform day-to-day physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to- 20% of scheduled time; data entry, answering the phone and computer work, 80% of scheduled time
- Provides reliable and professional interpersonal skills through verbal and written communication. Proficiency in basic computer skills, keyboarding, and word processing skills is expected
- At least 18 years of age or older.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including evening, night, weekend & holidays shifts. On-call availability will be based on the needs of the program. Standard shift will be scheduled as 11pm-7:30 am, Monday through Sunday, weekend days as needed.
Salary Range
$50 stipend per on-call shift and $100 issued for every community response within a shift.
