About the Role
As a Barback at Valentino Ristorante Italiano, you will play a vital role in supporting the bar team by ensuring bartenders and bar servers are fully equipped to deliver exceptional service. Your attentiveness, organization, and efficiency will directly impact guest satisfaction and the overall bar experience.
Key Responsibilities
(Please note: These responsibilities are not limited to the following and may evolve based on the needs of the restaurant.)
- Restock liquor, wine, beer, glassware, garnishes, mixers, and bar supplies throughout service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including countertops, bar tools, and storage.
- Assist bartenders with preparing garnishes, juices, and mixers before and during service.
- Wash, polish, and restock glassware and utensils quickly and efficiently.
- Remove trash, recycling, and empty bottles to maintain a clean and safe bar environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or needs to the Bar Director or bartenders.
- Support bartenders during peak hours by running drinks or assisting with basic preparation.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Assist in setting up the bar before service and breaking down at the end of the shift.
- Provide additional support to bartenders and servers as needed to ensure seamless guest service.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience as a barback or in a fine dining/upscale restaurant highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting.
- Ability to lift and carry cases of beverages, kegs, and supplies (up to 50 lbs).
- High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
