Description of Job: Assist Crop Enhancement scientists in conducting experiments that assess the value of new potential active ingredients, identify new uses for or activities of current products, and improve the performance of current products. This is a hands-on combination laboratory and greenhouse position.

$25.00 to $30.00 per hour. Individual pay is based upon location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Description of Job: Assist Crop Enhancement scientists in conducting experiments that assess the value of new potential active ingredients, identify new uses for or activities of current products, and improve the performance of current products. This is a hands-on combination laboratory and greenhouse position.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist in screening biostimulants and plant growth regulators.
- Assist in the development of new biostimulant products
- Assist in finding new uses for existing plant growth regulators.
- Assist in developing methods to assess effects of new and existing growth regulators and biostimulants.
- Growth and maintenance of different plant species for growth chamber and greenhouse assays.
- Data analysis, including preparation of graphs and reports, and entry into the ELN system.
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Assist in troubleshooting experiments.
- Contribute to general lab maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe work practices are used.
- BS degree in biology, plant science, crop science, agronomy, horticulture, ecology, environmental science or related field.
- At least 1 years of laboratory experience beyond laboratory classes.
- Should have experience in propagation of plants, image and data analysis and good computer skills.
- Experience growing plants in a variety of formats is highly desired.
- This position further requires use of an electronic laboratory notebook and the Microsoft Office software suite, knowledge of basic chemistry and biology, excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- The applicant must have excellent organizational skills, be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
