Duties

• Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients for service.
• Support the kitchen team during busy periods by maintaining cleanliness, organizing workstations, and managing food safety protocols.
• Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene.
• Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques.
• Assist in catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards.
• Serve as a key team player in maintaining a positive kitchen environment focused on efficiency and excellence.

Experience

• Previous experience in a culinary setting, including dietary department or dietary aide roles, is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices within restaurant or food industry environments.
• Fine dining experience or working in upscale establishments is a plus, showcasing attention to detail and presentation skills.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen tools are essential for efficient meal prep.
• Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation processes, and catering operations enhances your ability to excel in this role.
