What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Assistant - Temporary position at Valdese Weavers?

Job Summary: Schedule open production orders for specified looms for maximum weaveroom efficiency while striving to meet customer required ship dates. This position is on 2nd shift.
Essential Functions:
- Review open production orders by hierarchy
- Assign production orders to appropriate looms daily
- Arrange orders on looms by suitability codes and component availability
- Release orders to maintain continuous loom operation
- Schedule warp changes as needed for efficiency and timeliness
- Communicate filling and warp needs to appropriate areas in a timely manner.
- Work with weave room to resolve issues with loom/pattern assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Meet all pre-employment requirements.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills as required by the position.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others
- Computer knowledge including SAP and spreadsheets
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Safety:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
- Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
- Maintain 5S standards.
- PPE as required by policy and guidelines.
