Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.
Job Summary: Replace warp on looms.
Tools and equipment used: 17/19 mm open end wrench, 13/15 mm open end wrench, scissors, reed hook, warp brush 19/22 mm socket with ½ inch drive, lease sticks, and Allen wrenches
Essential Functions: Perform the following duties in accordance with ISO work instructions and standards.
- Lease in a manner to ensure all ends are back in their proper places. Starting side must be correct.
- Lease loom for new or different reed as needed.
- Clean loom and harness on bottom warp outs.
- Place warp in tie frame and tie.
- Retie warps with three or more ends crossed.
- Keep tie in frames clean and properly maintained.
- Pull tied warps over and start loom with correct pattern, correcting any crossed or double ends.
- Recycle any warp waste from warp out process.
- Report to warp replacement lead for next assignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work scheduled overtime.
- Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.

- Maintain 5 S Standards of safety.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
- Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to distinguish color differences in warp yarns.
High school diploma preferred.
