Job Summary: Keep slasher running to provide the warps needed for the weaving process.
Essential Functions:
Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:
- Operate slasher at assigned speed.
- Help creel slasher count and lay ends in comb.
- Lease and doff warps. Tag for identification.
- Report stops, bad warps, and yarn problems to the supervisor.
- Doff warps short on breakouts.
- Keep correct or assigned tension on warps.
- Get tails at first, middle, and end of each warp and match shade changes.
- Check size for correct percentage of solids.
- Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job.
- Meet deadlines and production quotas.
- Get along with co-workers.
- Follow instructions.
- Work scheduled overtime.
- Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.
- Clean size kettles at the end of week or on formula changes.
- Dump old size and clean filters every twenty-four (24) hours.
- Maintain housekeeping and keep waste in assigned areas.
- Blow off slasher and motors each week on stop off.
- Keep overhead blown off as needed.
- Assist in cleaning beam storage areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
- Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
