JOB TITLE: Final Inspector
DEPARTMENT: Post Inspection - Lovelady
REPORTS TO: Department Supervisor
FLSA: Hourly - Non Exempt
EST./REVISED: 2/13/2023
Job Summary: Ensure that fabric is free from defects prior to shipment.
Tools and Equipment used: Scissors, air hose, computer, measuring tape.
Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:
- Center buggy on inspection frame.
- Reset yardage clock at cut seams.
- Center cloth on roll up rolls. Lines or pattern must be straight across rolls.
- Put end of cloth in flap on tube to keep cloth from bowing when roll is started up and to make roll tighter.
- Check piece number on roll and apply matching hand tag.
- Write in gross yards, allowance yards.
- Check cloth for bow and bias also check width of cloth.
- Assure both edges of fabric are running straight.
- Check finish codes that call for stain resistant finish to be sure it has been applied.
- Write on tabs reasons rolls are being sent to regrade table.
- Check coating to assure it is the same throughout the roll.
- Apply appropriate sticker to roll if being routed anywhere other than shipping.
- Must be able to stand and perform job duties for long periods of time.
- Work scheduled overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
- Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
- Maintain 5 S standards.
- Dust masks when blowing down
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
