Operations Manager

Seeking an individual with a strong background in commercial windows and sliding glass door installation. Primary focus is large scale project window replacement in coastal mid-rise and high-rise condominiums, hotels, and hospitals.  The majority of installations are impact rated punch windows as well as some storefront. We are looking for a knowledgeable, outgoing, organized and dependable person to lead and develop our rapidly growing window business unit. We purchase directly from the leading window manufacturers (PGT, ES, CGIC, Wausau) and turnkey the sale direct to the client. Our services include shop drawings, field measurements, delivery logistics, installation, project management, and service. Window project values range from $500,000 to $10,000,000.

of growing a window business. This person will be responsible for, but not limited to, reviewing plans and specifications, visiting clients, working with our estimating team, job costing and project scheduling. The successful candidate will work to provide quoting requirements; coordinate purchasing; liaise with project engineers and customers; and, ensure project milestones are met. This person will develop the organizational structure for continued growth and develop procedures and protocols to ensure a successful project.

• Prepare thorough, accurate and timely estimates for both public and private sector structures projects, including the preparation of bid documents and the development of clear written proposals and correspondence.
• Material and labor cost associated with project and make sure changes are current.
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, physical take-offs,specifications, and related documents.
• Visits project sites when necessary.
• Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating prices.
• Computes cost factors and prepares estimates. Coordinates estimates with field superintendents.
• Executes contract agreements and assists with plan preparation.
• Negotiates and prepares changes orders as necessary.
• Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and employees.
• 5-10 years glass and glazing that include windows, doors, interior glass & exterior glass replacement.
• Knowledge of various types of glazing materials.
• Knowledge of practices, and procedures of glazing trade.
• Glazing Installation experience a PLUS.
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills required.
• Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and effectively multi-task.
• Perform well under pressure and in a deadline driven environment.
