Build Something That Protects People

When a school goes on lockdown, an earthquake is about to hit, or a hospital calls a code — there's a good chance a Valcom system is doing the talking. For nearly 50 years, we've built the paging, intercom, and emergency communication systems that keep people informed and safe in the moments that count. Every finished product that leaves our facility is assembled by people who take pride in doing things right. That's where you come in.

Why You'll Like It Here

  • Four-day work week. Our core shift is Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, giving you three-day weekends every week. Overtime is frequently available on Friday and occasionally Saturday.
  • No experience? No problem. We'll train you. If you're dependable, enjoy working with your hands, and pay attention to details, we'll teach you the skills you need to build products that help protect people every day.
  • Real room to grow. We value employees who are willing to learn new products, cross-train on different assembly lines, and expand their skills.
  • See what you accomplish. You'll build finished products from start to finish, working with your hands and seeing the results of your work every day.
  • A team that knows your name. Valcom has been part of the Roanoke Valley for almost five decades. We're big enough to matter and small enough that you're never just a number.

What You'll Do

You'll assemble the products that become the voice of schools, hospitals, businesses, and public facilities across the country. Every day you'll help ensure our products are built correctly, tested thoroughly, and ready to perform when they're needed most.

Day to day, that looks like:

  • Assembling finished products and subassemblies using hand tools and assembly equipment
  • Reading basic diagrams and following work instructions to ensure products are built to specification
  • Inspecting your work and identifying any defects before products move to the next stage
  • Using quality standards to ensure every product meets Valcom expectations
  • Working with your team to meet daily production goals while maintaining a safe, organized work area
  • Cross-training on multiple product lines to support changing production needs

The Environment

You'll work in a manufacturing environment with low to moderate noise, assembling products alongside an experienced team. You'll spend most of your day on your feet, using hand tools, handling small components, and moving between workstations. If you enjoy hands-on work, staying active, and taking pride in building something tangible, you'll fit right in.
