What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasonic Testing Supervisor position at Valbruna Group?
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Ultrasonic Testing Supervisor’s responsibilities include;
- Ensures that safe operating practices and procedures are available and are being followed by all Ultrasonic Testing and associated personnel.
- Has the ability to operate all in-house ultrasonic inspection and ancillary equipment with acceptable and specified results. Works to specify new testing equipment (replacement or CAPEX), coordinate and train operators for new equipment as needed.
- Ensure that testing data is accurate and maintained.
- Ensures compliant calibration status for all Ultrasonic testing equipment. Ensuring proper sign-off of calibration certificates.
- Ensures that suitable and / or specified reference standards are available.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of all in-plant Ultrasonic Testing and ancillary equipment, coordinating with equipment manufacturing, third party and in-house maintenance as required.
- Ensure ordering of testing supplies and consumables required for Ultrasonic Testing.
- Ensures proper training of Ultrasonic Testing trainees Tests
- Interpretation of customer requirements with regard to quality and specific material requirements including interpretation and evaluation of applicable external specifications (ASTM, AMS, ASME etc.).
- Formulation of etchants, and proper composition of the Macro Etch bath and rinse tanks.
- Verification and training of analytical testing procedures.
- Performing internal audits.
- Writing, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the management system including procedures, corrective actions, process changes and continuous improvement exercises.
- Evaluating and recommending continuous improvement projects and performing the role (when appropriate) as team leaders.
- Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform additional, related duties as assigned.
Education and Training:
Bachelors Degree in a related field, along with a minimum of two years of supervisory and nondestructive testing experience
