Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

Responsible at an expert level for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical banking platforms and applications. Serves as a senior contributor, designing and implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Collaborates with development, infrastructure, and business teams to enhance system resiliency via automation, observability, testing, and proactive operational management, while mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, support, and improve highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure and applications following SRE best practices.
• Lead initiatives on system reliability, automate operational workflows, and define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
• Develop observability strategies using tools like Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, and dashboards; analyze telemetry to identify risks.
• Manage incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Automate tasks, support IaC with Terraform, and optimize Azure environments leveraging native tools.
• Ensure operational readiness, review architecture for resiliency, and lead capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Create operational documentation, communicate system health, and mentor engineers on reliability practices.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Extensive experience with observability, monitoring, and incident management tools.
• Proficiency in IaC (Terraform), CI/CD, deployment automation, and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including App Services, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
• Experience implementing SRE practices such as SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and disaster recovery.
• Excellent troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills; scripting experience preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously, lead complex initiatives, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
