Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support, modeling dignity and respect.
- Collaborate with teachers to support student growth, behavior management, and instructional activities.
- Assist with personal needs such as toileting, hygiene, feeding, and transfers, following individualized plans.
- Implement student-specific accommodations outlined in their IEPs and support therapy sessions.
- Collect and maintain documentation, observe and report changes, and communicate with families and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support students during transitions, outings, and activities outside the classroom.
- Support technology use and adaptive devices for students' communication and learning.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting and repositioning students, responding to emergencies, and wearing PPE as needed.
- High school diploma or GED; relevant certification and CPR certification required.
- Proficiency in assessments, documentation, and compliance with policies.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to support students' needs.
- Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks and operate equipment safely.
- Ability to work in diverse environments, possibly exposed to health risks.
