Specialist TV-Production/Director - Editor - Full Time, Year Round, Avon, CO
The Video Editor is responsible for using state-of-the-art non-linear editing software to assemble recorded raw materials into finished commercials, news packages and other corporate videos suitable for broadcast on TV8 Vail. The Editor will perform a variety of production tasks essential to the management, planning, production, content distribution and editing of various production elements. Necessary job functions include assembling rough/final cuts, creating motion graphics, compositing and sound design. Requires excellent IT, data management and problem-solving skills, and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have a good ear for music, and a strong eye for design, typography and visual layout.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Daily oversight and management of multiple video projects.
- Ingest and organize video shot on Canon C100, Canon 7D, Panasonic HPX-370
- Edit commercial campaigns, corporate presentations, marketing materials, training videos, etc. in to finished product for broadcast on TV8/TV17; insert music, dialogue, and sound effects to arrange video in to sequences, and to correct errors using editing equipment. Color grading and sound editing necessary.
- Consult with the director, producer and/or client throughout the post-production process. Maintain thorough post-production workflow, ensuring all projects conform to established TV8 standards.
- Work & collaborate with other editors and production staff on editing techniques and workflow
- Monitor and maintain edit suites, RAID arrays, video assets, etc. Troubleshoot software/hardware issues when they arise. Perform regular backups of data and video footage.
- Record/produce voiceovers in studio for use in video projects and billboards.
- Ensure delivery of video projects through tape, DVD and/or compressed internet delivery formats (e.g. .MOV, .MP4, .WMV, etc.)
- Create print ads for use in Vail Daily and other valley publications.
- Assist with and perform associated studio production work such as operating audio, videotape machines, cameras, and lighting sets when needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED - required.
- College degree in related field - preferred.
- Three of more years in production, and editing - preferred.
- One Year of supervisory experience - required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, Final Cut Pro 7, Apple/Mac hardware, Microsoft Office - required.
- Excellent IT skills - preferred. (i.e. knowledge of PC/Mac hardware & software, ability to troubleshoot computer issues as they arise.)
- Must be fluent in English, written and verbal - required.
