Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA/QC Technician to join our team supporting the construction and operation of state-of-the-art data centers. This role is 100% on-site with minimal travel required. The QA/QC Technician will play a critical role in performing field inspections, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and implementing quality control changes. Attention to detail is crucial to identify potential issues early, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and a keen eye for identifying discrepancies, all while adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Inspections & Equipment Audits: Conduct detailed and regular inspections of on-site equipment, systems, and installations to verify compliance with QA/QC requirements, specifications, and safety standards. Ensure that no details are overlooked and report findings accurately to site management and the QA/QC Lead.
  • Compliance Assurance: Monitor construction, installation, and maintenance activities to ensure strict adherence to quality control processes, industry standards, and client requirements. A high level of attention to detail is required to detect even the smallest discrepancies that may impact overall quality.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare precise, well-documented inspection reports, track quality issues, and collaborate with management to resolve discrepancies. Maintain thorough and accurate records of inspections, testing, and corrective actions taken. Attention to detail in reporting is critical for clear communication and accountability.
  • Collaboration with Site Management: Work closely with site management and the QA/QC Lead to implement QA/QC changes, based on site needs and the provided program. Ensure that all changes are incorporated smoothly and that the impact on quality standards is closely monitored.
  • Implementation of QA/QC Changes: Execute quality control program updates and changes as directed by the Site Lead and QA/QC Lead, including process improvements or adjustments to material handling and inspection methods. Be vigilant to ensure any revisions maintain or improve quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Identify potential risks or quality issues through careful observation and analysis. Recommend and help implement corrective actions to resolve discrepancies. Precision and detail are critical when diagnosing and resolving issues to avoid future problems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all QA/QC activities are performed according to safety and environmental regulations, reporting any unsafe conditions immediately. A high standard of attention to detail is needed to identify safety hazards before they impact personnel or project timelines.
  • Regular Communication: Maintain regular communication with the QA/QC Lead and Site Management to provide updates on inspections, quality-related issues, and potential risks to schedule or quality standards. Your attention to detail will ensure that no issue goes unnoticed or unresolved.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in QA/QC or inspection roles, ideally within construction, engineering, or data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, industry standards (ISO, NEC, etc.), and best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify even the smallest discrepancies in equipment, systems, and installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on careful observation and detailed analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to perform work in a challenging and dynamic environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
  • Familiarity with quality management software and reporting tools is a plus.
  • Experience in data center infrastructure (power, cooling, fire suppression systems, etc.) is a plus.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate degree or technical certification in a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a QA/QC technician role, preferably in data centers, construction, or electrical environments.
  • Prior experience with large-scale projects is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform field inspections in varying conditions (standing, walking, bending, climbing, etc.).
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials up to 50 pounds.
