Technical Accounting Consultant (CONTRACT)
Dallas, TX -Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite
Compensation: $60-$80/hr
One of Vaco's clients is looking for an Accounting Consultant with technical accounting background in the DFW area.
Outside of day-to-day GL accounting, this role will be the in-house SME on technical accounting but also be involved in the day to day full cycle accounting. They need someone really well-versed in Excel, able to navigate large sets of data to glean actionable analysis.
Role/Responsibilities
- Will maintain supporting schedules and bank reporting, including consolidation work for all of their subsidiaries
- Assist with acquisition accounting (purchase accounting highly-desirable) and new accounting pronouncements revolving around 606, 710, 805 and 842.
- Technical accounting research (ASC 606 & 842)
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial reports and management presentations.
- Ensure accounting policies, procedures and controls are consistently applied and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Requires strong communication and the ability to interact with several members of the accounting and finance team across the organization at varying levels.
- Position will need to be self-motivated with extensive US GAAP knowledge, process implementation and internal controls experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, advanced functions, linking spreadsheets together and possibly macros development).

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
