This individual will support network operations while applying software reliability engineering principles to improve scalability, automation, and system performance.
This role is highly focused on building reliable, secure, and automated voice infrastructure across complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Automation
Design and implement automation solutions to reduce manual operational work, leveraging scripting and infrastructure as code practices.
Voice Service Orchestration
Automate provisioning, scaling, and management of voice platforms and carrier interconnects using industry standard tools.
Carrier Interconnect Design
Develop and maintain SIP connectivity with external partners, ensuring high availability, compliance, and efficient routing strategies.
Advanced Troubleshooting and Observability
Serve as an escalation point for complex SIP and RTP issues. Analyze signaling and media flows using advanced diagnostic tools.
System Integration
Partner with internal engineering teams to integrate SIP services across various components of the voice infrastructure.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
Maintain detailed technical documentation and provide mentorship to junior engineers on best practices for design and deployment.

Required Experience
- 5 or more years of hands on VoIP engineering experience in carrier grade environments
- Deep expertise in SIP signaling, SDP negotiation, and RTP and RTCP protocols
- Strong experience with automation using Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools
- Experience with infrastructure as code in production environments
- Hands on experience with SIP proxy platforms and session border controllers
- Solid Linux knowledge for system performance and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with diagnostic and packet analysis tools used in VoIP environments
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting carrier to carrier SIP environments
- Knowledge of routing strategies including least cost routing
- Familiarity with voice security protocols and regulatory considerations such as STIR/SHAKEN and emergency services
- Exposure to containerized or cloud based voice deployments
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including IP, DNS, and routing
