About the Role:


Our non-profit client is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role is essential to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financials, with a strong focus on grant reporting, compliance, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of non-profit accounting principles, strong reporting skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment. MIP ERP experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare and review monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
• 
  Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards
• 
  Lead or assist in grant tracking and reporting, including restricted/unrestricted fund allocations
• 
  Support month-end and year-end close processes and financial statement preparation
• 
  Prepare and analyze grant budgets, and collaborate with program staff on fund utilization
• 
  Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation
• 
  Maintain internal controls and assist in policy documentation
• 
  Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• 
  Provide timely financial reports to management, donors, and external stakeholders
• 
  Support compliance with federal, state, and private grant requirements
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 
  3-5 years of accounting experience; non-profit and grant reporting experience strongly preferred
• 
  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with MIP ERP is a plus
• 
  Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles
• 
  Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• 
  Effective communicator with the ability to translate financial data to non-finance staff
• 
  Self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
