Compensation: $45-52/hr (DOE)

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll-related accounting activities. This position is responsible for recording payroll transactions, reconciling accounts, supporting month-end close processes, and assisting with financial reporting and audit requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in working with complex payroll accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries related to payroll, bonuses, commissions, paid time off (PTO), and employee benefits.
• Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies or unusual variances.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by ensuring payroll data is recorded accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist internal and external audit processes by preparing supporting schedules, reports, and documentation.
• Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll-related accounting issues and ensure data integrity.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of payroll accounting, accruals, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
