Title: Leasing Specialist

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Leasing Specialist to support a large residential portfolio across properties in Jamaica, Queens. The portfolio includes approximately 1,500 affordable and market-rate units.
Responsibilities:
- Manage leasing activity across a high-volume residential portfolio, including lease-ups and renewals.
- Work directly with voucher holders, housing agencies, and other external organizations throughout the leasing process.
- Coordinate the receipt, processing, and tracking of housing vouchers and HAP documentation.
- Communicate and meet with NYCHA and similar agencies to resolve documentation or leasing-related matters.
- Maintain accurate voucher folders, tenant files, leasing records, and supporting documentation.
- Track outstanding items, deadlines, approvals, and required follow-up across multiple properties.
- Enter and maintain leasing and resident information within Yardi.
- Support leasing for both affordable and market-rate apartments.
- Provide responsive service to prospective and current residents while ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Prior experience working with housing vouchers and voucher holders is essential.
- Experience coordinating with NYCHA, housing agencies, or similar government and nonprofit organizations.
- Understanding of HAP vouchers, supporting documentation, and agency processes.
- Residential leasing, property management, or affordable housing experience.
- Experience with both affordable and market-rate housing is preferred.
- Experience with lease-ups and renewals.
- Proficiency with Yardi.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage a high volume of documentation, deadlines, and follow-up.
- A real estate license is not required.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
