What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator/Project Manager position at Vaco by Highspring?
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Prepare and submit proposals, bids, and budget forecasts
- Identify project risks and recommend cost-saving opportunities
- Oversee projects from award through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Track project costs, change orders, and overall financial performance
- Ensure compliance with project scope, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide regular project updates, status reports, and cost tracking
- Manage client expectations and resolve issues proactively
- Maintain accurate project documentation, contracts, and reporting
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines
- Ensure all work aligns with company procedures and industry standards
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- X years of experience in estimating, project management, or both
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost structures
- Experience with estimating software and project management tools
- Strong communication and organizational skills
