What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Associate, Shipping and Receiving position at Vaccinex?

The Operations Associate performs assigned tasks in support of daily facilities and laboratory operation under the direction of senior staff members. This individual is tasked to maintain the organization of stockroom inventory, ordering and supplying necessary items while maintaining accurate records of all procurements. Expedites outgoing shipments and accepts, records and delivers incoming shipments. Performs laboratory services support tasks

Essential Functions /Responsibilities is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks supporting general operations including:

· Prepare and process shipments according to company and customer specifications.

· Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.

· Coordinate with carriers and schedule pick-ups.

· Compiles and places orders for laboratory supplies via phone, email, or web and facilitate transit of these orders. Communicates status of orders to internal customers.

· Receive and sign for materials delivered, verify against purchase orders and packing lists. deliver to internal customer.

· Track shipments and resolve any issues that arise during transit

· Organize and store received materials in designated areas.

· Update inventory records and manage stock levels.

· Perform daily Lab Services tasks such as running dishwasher/ autoclave/ equipment maintenance

· Stock Supplies.

· Provide backup for Facilities Specialist.

· Assist with building maintenance tasks as needed.

· Use “Master Control” software for understanding and compliance with various SOP’s used here at Vaccinex.

· Weekly collection and organization of employee lab coats and facility rugs.

· Assist with routine preventative maintenance of laboratory refrigerators, freezers and incubators.

· Must be able to multi-task constantly.

Supervisory Responsibilities

· None

Physical Requirements

· Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at times.

· Able to carry and transport up to 30 lbs.

· Maneuvering around the facilities including stairs and elevators.

· Standing and walking required constantly.

· Proper use of ladders

Position type and Expected Hours:

· Full time or part time, 25- 40 hours per week schedule Monday-Friday

Education and Experience

· Minimum high school diploma, prefer some college coursework or AAS/ technical degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Familiarity with Laboratory consumables is a plus.

Additional eligibility Qualifications

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Work Environment

· Office, laboratories, receiving, outside of building in all weather.
