What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Social Studies Teacher position at Vacaville Christian Academy?
Description
The teacher will be responsible for creating (and submitting for review) weekly lesson plans, daily lectures, regular homework assignments, and periodic assessments of student progress (tests and quizzes). Further duties will include participation at regular staff meetings, as well as possible supervision of students immediately before or after the school day. At regular intervals, the teacher will collaborate with other members of the Social Studies Department to review and improve departmental practices and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian testimony, teaching experience, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and be able to take direction from and work with others.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Social Studies or a related field from an accredited four-year university, keen writing and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to the Christian education of children.
Preferred Qualifications:
California Teaching Credential in Social Studies (or related field), experience teaching Social Studies at the High School level, and experience with Windows PC computers and Smartboard technology.
