Position Summary
The Veterinary Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and via digital communication. This role supports veterinarians and technicians by managing the front desk, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and ensuring a smooth workflow throughout the clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and messages promptly and courteously.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, surgeries, and follow-ups.
- Check clients in and out, process payments, and manage billing inquiries.
- Maintain accurate client and patient records using AVImark.
- Communicate clearly with veterinarians, technicians, and other team members to coordinate patient care.
- Handle prescription refill requests and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide basic information about services, wellness plans, and clinic policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and inventory as needed.
- Can follow through with additional tasks asked by your team lead or manager.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment.
- Computer proficiency and experience with scheduling or recordkeeping software.
- Passion for animals and commitment to excellent client service.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a veterinary, medical, or customer service setting.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures.
