Overview:
The Maintenance Planner & Parts Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities while ensuring the timely availability of parts, materials, and resources. This role supports maintenance efficiency, minimizes downtime, and improves equipment reliability through effective planning and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance plans
- Schedule work orders and prioritize tasks based on operational needs
- Coordinate labor, tools, and materials for maintenance activities
- Maintain and update the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Ensure work orders are properly documented, tracked, and closed out
- Parts & Inventory Management
- Identify and order parts required for planned and emergency maintenance
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for critical spare parts
- Track usage trends and adjust stock levels to reduce downtime risk
- Work with vendors to source parts, obtain quotes, and ensure timely delivery
- Manage receiving, storage, and organization of parts and materials
- Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and operations teams
- Communicate schedules, delays, and resource needs effectively
- Assist in outage planning and major repair coordination
- Continuous Improvement
- Analyze maintenance data to improve planning efficiency
- Reduce downtime through better part availability and scheduling
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in parts procurement and inventory control
- Support reliability and preventive maintenance initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or facilities operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems
- Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, eMaint, etc.)
- Inventory or parts management experience highly preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to read technical manuals, parts diagrams, and equipment documentation
