What are the responsibilities and job description for the Management and Program Assistant position at VA Portland Health Care System?
This position is located in the Mental Health Division of the VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS), Community Reintegration Services (CRS). The Mental Health Division is responsible for providing Mental Health services to Veterans at thirteen unique sites of care across Oregon and Southwest Washington.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal service, that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Management and Program Assistant position to be filled. Specialized experience includes utilizing Microsoft Office Suite to create, store and retrieve electronic documents and files; format letters, reports and memoranda; develop and maintain spreadsheets; utilize graphs to display data; correspond via e-mail, maintain calendar and schedule meetings; develop professional presentation materials; payroll preparation and troubleshooting. Responsibilities:

Major duties and responsibilities include:
- Collecting, tracking, and distributing data using common office software.
- Developing and presenting formal briefings, statistical data, and reports.
- Serving as project leader or team member, works through and with interdisciplinary teams to complete initiatives established by national, Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN), and local authorities.
- Identifying end-user educational requirements and training needs; developing instructional materials and appropriate tools to educate the users and support staff at all levels of the organization, and training others to deliver educational programs.
- Developing and/or overseeing databases related to patient management systems, and actively participating in or leading the development of clinical decision-support systems.
- Exercising knowledge in clinical processes, developing and/or overseeing the development of information related to patient care.
- Providing relevant clinical and/or administrative data to identify, quantify and resolve organizational problems.
- Actively participating in the implementation and subsequent maintenance of clinical decision-support systems.
- Effectively and efficiently managing multiple competing priorities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
