Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze financial documents, including income statements, expense reports, and bank statements, to accurately prepare tax returns.
• Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, or other tax preparation tools to compile data efficiently.
• Calculate taxes owed or refunds due by applying current tax codes and regulations, ensuring full compliance.
• Review client financial information for accuracy, completeness, and potential deductions or credits.
• Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients, offering guidance on financial planning and tax strategies.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations through continuous education and professional development.
• Maintain detailed records of all prepared returns, correspondence, and client interactions for audit readiness.

Skills

• Proven experience in tax preparation with a strong understanding of current tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Tax Wise.
• Solid knowledge of financial concepts
• Excellent analysis skills to interpret complex financial data accurately.
• Strong math skills coupled with 10 key typing proficiency for efficient data entry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.10 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
