This Transportation Assistant position reports to the Business Office. The position is at the facility level and acts as primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs. In this position the incumbent supports the Supervisory Mobility Manger for transportation workload, management consultation, program support responsibilities.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. - Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: scheduling, data collection, tracking support, performance measures support, coordination, program planning and advisory, identify strengths and weaknesses in processes of alternative solutions, conclusion or approaches to problems, organize work, set priorities, coordinate with others, monitor and evaluate outcomes, relates well with diverse backgrounds, use of software applications, database and automated systems to accomplish work.
Responsibilities:
This position is located within Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) and located at the VA Medical Center/Health Care System with several Community Based Outpatient Clinics. As the Transportation Assistant the incumbent duties will include but are not limited to:Scheduling, Data Collection, Tracking Support
- Consult management, appointment scheduling and admissions scheduling.
- Collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical informtion in support of Veteran Transportation Service (VTS)
- Performs a basic analysis of the data and gerates variety of reports
- Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialilty areas.
- Utilizes the Veterans Health Information Systems (CPRS) or Sharepoint Consult/Request Tracking System in processing internal consultations
- Measures sucess of efforts to provide seamless cre and to support the education of staff in the proper use of the electronic record, to include internal consultation process.
Coordination, Program Planning and Advisory Services
- Plans, organizes, administers, and directs how the work will be accomplished for the VTS program.
- Plan and directs programs that provide support services functions and require the application of specialized knowledge and skills.
- Planning responsibilities require consideration of support services; systems management, operations, workload, forecasting, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program/project studies.
- Responds to action required notifications, ensuring the primary providers are correct
- Cooridnates the day-to-day operation of VTS program flow, process and functions.
