What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community / School Based Counselors position at VA Counseling & Community Development?
VACCD is seeking a Mental Health Professional, students and interns of all levels to provide Intensive In-home, Mental Health Skill Building, Therapeutic Day Treatment Services, Substance Abuse Services, Crisis Services, Peer Support Specialist, Case Management and Outpatient Services throughout the state of Virginia. VACCD of has been in business since 2006 serving the mental health needs of the Tri-Cities area. We utilize comprehensive Person -centered mental health treatment, and support to overcome everyday challenges which benefits society. It is the mission of VACCD provide structured programs of care to meet the individuals physical and emotional needs; provide protection and meet the objectives of any required service plan.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
· Seeing clients in the community such as the service recipient's natural environment
· Providing 1-1 mental health counseling related to goals.
· Linking service recipient with resources in the community
· Case Management to ensure service recipient's basic needs are met.
· Providing individual and family counseling.
· Completing individualized services plans
· Completing documentation for each session with service recipients.
· Meeting regularly for supervision
