Job Summary:
V2X has a requirement for an Electronics Technician, Maintenance III on the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions (W-TRS) to support at the Digital Ranges Training Systems (DRTS) at Yakima Training Center, WA. The Electronics Technician, Maintenance III will report directly to the Site Managers and ensure the full spectrum of range support is provided to enable successful gunnery/range training events. The Electronics Technician, Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.

Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians.

  • Under minimal supervision performs scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on TADSS and GFP,
following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist
is available.
  • Ensures maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing.
  • Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSite.
  • Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location.
  • Sets up and tests TADSS devices to confirm they work as expected, including interoperability and operation
verification.
  • Monitors hardware baselines, reverting to previous versions if updates fail.
  • Analyzes maintenance trends, tracks component consumption, manages obsolescence, implements risk
management strategies, and conducts failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability.
  • Installs modifications or upgrade kits as per manufacturer's instructions.
  • Must be able to travel CONUS and OCONUS to support training events and maintenance activities.
  • Valid State Driver’s License and retain Post Driving Privileges.
  • Must be able to acquire a Government Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, and feel

  • Work is subject to high noise levels and vibration
  • Work is performed in an environment with high dust, pollen, and wind
  • Requires physical presence around high voltage, machinery, and unprotected heights
  • Work may require protective clothing and equipment for feet, hands, head, eyes, and ears
  • Ability to lift and carry items not to exceed 50 lbs
  • Physical dexterity to push/pull, climb/balance, bend/stoop, twist/turn, kneel/crouch, crawl, reach overhead, grasp, use feet for foot controls
  • Ability to stand unaided for eight (8) hours or more
  • Valid State Driver’s License and retain Post Driving Privileges
  • Must be able to acquire a Government Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Travel up to 50%

Desired Experience:
  • Knowledge of range operations
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines while adhering to all applicable safety guidelines and installation Standardized Operating Procedures

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or
  • Associate degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • No degree and 4 years of relevant experience

Certifications:
  • Basic Electronic Technical Certificate (preferred)
