V-TEK, Inc. is growing and we are looking to expand our Machine Shop team! Join a leading provider and manufacturer of precision packaging equipment and build your career with us. We are currently seeking candidates for a Manual Machinist to join our Machine Shop who have experience setting up and running drill presses, lathes, mills, and other manual machines. Avoid the “big shop” anonymity and join our close-knit, talented team while working in our clean, climate-controlled shop. As a Machinist, you would operate a variety of equipment including Bridgeport mills, lathes, mini-mills, and other machines to help manufacture key components of our custom-engineered equipment using a variety of materials including aluminum, brass, and plexiglass.
About V-TEK, Inc.: V-TEK, Inc. is a local manufacturer of precision packaging, inspection, and bond testing equipment for electronics, automotive, aerospace, consumer electronic, and medical manufacturing. Our Machine Shop is responsible for programming and machining various parts and components to meet the exact specifications needed to support our operations, machine parts out of a variety of materials such as aluminum, plexiglass, and brass, and manufacturing prototype components for custom equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Machine parts to specifications from drawings by performing precision machining operations
· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, written specifications, and schematics to properly layout and perform machining operations.
· Set-up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools on work involving close tolerances.
· Use hand-tools and finishing tools as required.
· Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) to validate work and ensure final product meets specifications.
Education and Experience:
· Two-Year Technical Degree or five years of experience utilizing manual machines (a combination of education and experience will suffice).
· Ability to set-up and run machines independently
· Demonstrated knowledge of machining practices and techniques.
· Demonstrated knowledge and use of gauges, micrometers, calipers, and similar measurement equipment.
· Experience with Bridgeport machines, manual lathes, and similar a plus!
