Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as skid steer, paver, roller and grader to prepare and pave surfaces efficiently.
- Assist with asphalt paving tasks, including spreading, leveling, and compacting materials to ensure high-quality results.
- Support construction site activities by handling dump trucks, utility locating, and site cleanup to maintain safety and productivity.
- Collaborate with team members to set up work zones, manage materials, and ensure adherence to safety protocols throughout the project.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and perform basic maintenance when needed.
- Follow detailed instructions for each task, ensuring precision in operations such as grading and asphalt placement.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisor/foreman regarding project progress and any operational issues.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including skid steer, paver, rollers and grader is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and construction site procedures.
- Familiarity with machinery and other heavy equipment is highly desirable.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety and efficiency in a construction environment.
- Physical stamina for long hours of manual labor in outdoor conditions.
