Position Summary:
V.I.P. Cheer is looking for an All-Star Cheer Coach who would be responsible for developing and leading competitive cheer teams at the Level 1-3 division. This role focuses on athlete skill progression, routine development, and fostering a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented environment while preparing athletes for competitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching and Athlete Development
* Plan and lead structured practices for Level 1-3 athletes
* Teach and safely progress tumbling skills (round-off back handsprings, back and front tucks, ariels, layouts and fulls)
* Coach Level 3-4 level stunts
* Provide individualized feedback to athletes to improve technique and performance
* Promote physical conditioning, flexibility, and injury prevention
Routine Choreography and Execution
* Assist with or create competition routines (stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance)
* Clean and perfect routines to meet scoring standards
* Prepare athletes for performances at competitions, showcases, and events
Safety and Compliance
* Ensure all skills are performed according to USASF guidelines
* Maintain a safe training environment at all times
* Spot athletes appropriately and enforce gym safety policies
* Stay current on certifications (CPR, First Aid, safety training)
Team Management
* Build team unity, accountability, and sportsmanship
* Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and gym leadership
* Track athlete progress and attendance
* Support a positive and inclusive team culture
Competition Preparation
* Prepare teams mentally and physically for competitions
* Travel to events as required
* Ensure athletes are confident, prepared, and performance-ready
Qualifications:
* Previous All-Star cheer coaching experience (Level 2 required, Level 3 preferred)
* Strong knowledge of Level 3 stunts, tumbling, and scoring
* Ability to motivate and lead athletes of varying skill levels
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
* USASF credentialed
* Background in gymnastics, cheerleading, or dance
* Experience choreographing routines
* CPR/First Aid certified
Work Environment & Expectations:
Evening and weekend availability required (10- 14 hours of coaching, 1-2 hours of administration)
Current Level 3 team trains twice a week for 2 hours and has required tumbling classes based on ability of athlete.
Current Level 1 team also trains the same hours.
* Ability to stand, spot, and actively coach for extended periods
Travel required during competition season
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
