What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Telecommunications Structured Cabling Technician position at V.I. Communications, Inc.?
V.I. Communications is currently seeking Low Voltage Telecommunications Techs.
VI Communications is a complete design and installation contractor for data and voice networks, including fiber optic and high-speed copper installations.
Responsibilities:
- Install, Troubleshoot and repair Telephone, Data and Fiber Optic Cables
- Installation of Surface Mount Raceway
- Test and certify cables with Level V test equipment
- Adhere to all quality and safety codes
- Must be able to pass hair follicle drug testing, background check and MVR check
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in telecommunications or other related fields
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and blueprints
- Familiarity with copper & fiber optic testing equipment and hand tools
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Experience with CCTV and/or audiovidual system installation is a plus
- Military experience preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $32.00 per hour
