Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled IT Level 2/3 Specialist to join our technology support team. In this role, you will be the frontline for resolving complex technical issues, managing IT infrastructure, and ensuring seamless operation across various systems. Your expertise will drive efficient problem-solving, support end-users, and maintain the integrity of our network and hardware environments. Factory and Manufacturing automation are a vital part of this support role.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office applications, enterprise tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), GPO (Group Policy Objects), and help desk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and BMC Remedy.
- Manage computer hardware components, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Administer computer networks including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), DNS (Domain Name System), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and network security devices like Meraki.
- Support Active Directory management for user accounts, permissions, group policies, and authentication processes.
- Conduct system analysis to identify issues proactively and implement solutions to improve system reliability and security.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of operating systems, software updates, patches, and security protocols using tools like SCCM.
- Collaborate with team members on infrastructure projects involving network administration, server management (Windows Server environments), and IT asset management.
- Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and system configurations meticulously to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
- Familiar with factory automation and equipment such as bar code guns, bar code printers, warehouse and office PA systems.
- Knowledge of CMMC requirements
- Bonus – Familiar with Datacor’s ERP C/S
Skills
- Proven experience in providing technical support for desktop hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, LAN/WAN architecture.
- Proficiency in managing Windows environments (Windows 10/11/Server), macOS systems, and Linux distributions.
- Familiarity with enterprise management tools such as SCCM, GPOs, Active Directory, ServiceNow, Jira for issue tracking and asset management.
- Knowledge of network security practices including firewall configuration and VPN setup to safeguard organizational data.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues quickly using strong problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills are essential for effective customer service.
- Experience supporting mobile devices and operating systems in a corporate environment is a plus.
- Minimum Associate Degree in Computer Science. Certifications such as CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL Foundation strongly recommended.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components including servers, storage solutions, DNS management, network administration tools like Meraki appliances.
