Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Human Factors Engineer (T02 level) / Human Factors Principal Engineer (T03 level). This position is located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama and supports the Sentinel program. Our team works on design for maintainability, human–machine interface development, operator workstation design, CONOPS support, task analyses, verification & validation, and collaboration across IPTs and with the customer and user community.

### Qualifications and clearance
This requisition may be filled at either the Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Engineer level (T-03).

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

The Sentinel program offers opportunities to author and support the development of requirements that comply with Human Factors best practices and specified sections of MIL
- STD-1472G. You will perform Human Factors analyses including task analyses, predictive workload analyses, interface prototyping and analysis, and design-for-maintainability (DFM) analysis. Other activities include functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, interface definition studies, and computer-based (NX) and empirical accessibility assessments.
- IPT collaboration, user group collaboration, and working groups are part of the role, and you will design and develop workstation geometry, layout controls, and displays to accommodate the full anthropometric range of expected users.
### Qualifications and clearance
This requisition may be filled at either the Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Engineer level (T-03).
Required for Both Levels
- Must be a US Citizen with an active Do. D Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to segment, program and customer community
- Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 2 years of related experience with a Bachelors; OR at least 1 Years of relevant experience with a Masters degree.
- Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 5 years of related experience with a bachelors; OR at least 3 Years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; OR 1 Year with a Ph. D degree.
- Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production
- Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment (familiarity with Mil
- Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007)
- Familiarity with Human Factors modeling in NX/Jack, IMPRINT
- Experience in HF test environment
- Experience in fast-paced work environment and ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated experience applying HFE principles to Department of Defense programs
