What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional position at Uxbridge Public Schools?
Full-time position with benefits. Work hours are from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM. Provide direct support to students with social/emotional, behavioral and/or developmental disabilities. Assignment ranges from 4th Grade to 7th Grade at the Whitin Intermediate School.
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to support their instructional, social, emotional, and behavioral needs throughout the school day, including during lunch and recess/flex time. Collect and record accurate data on student behaviors and progress toward IEP goals. Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment. Employ positive behavior supports, accommodations, and modifications as directed by supervisors.
Participate in ongoing training in areas such as behavior management, positive behavioral supports, inclusion instructional support, and social/emotional skill development. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special educators, and BCBAs to ensure consistent implementation of student support plans. Assist with the preparation of materials and activities for student instruction and engagement. Support students' development of social skills, communication abilities.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and adhere to school policies and procedures. Job Requirements High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
