Key Job Responsibilities: Serves as a point of contact and liaison to coaching staff, medical professionals, and student-athletes to monitor physical health, improve athletic abilities, and provide information and coaching Assists in in the development and monitoring of individual and team weight training and conditioning programs Enters and maintains computerized data and tracking of individual and team student-athlete workouts Assists with the instruction and execution of conditioning simulations and exercises for a designated athletic team, provides information, and consults with student-athletes regarding weight lifting and conditioning techniques and safety Department: Athletics Reports to: Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Full-Time: 100 %, Limited, 12-month ongoing appointment, one vacancy UW Standard Job Responsibilities: Assists in in the development and monitoring of individual and team weight training and conditioning programs. Enters and maintains computerized data and tracking of individual and team student-athlete workouts. Assists with the instruction and execution of conditioning simulations and exercises for a designated athletic team, provides information, and consults with student-athletes regarding weightlifting and conditioning techniques and safety. Serves as a point of contact and liaison to coaching staff, medical professionals, and student-athletes to monitor physical health, improve athletic abilities, and provide information and coaching. Additional duties specific to the position: Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the athletic program; to include adhering to and enforcing all departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the University, the governing sport conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Support the Head Coach and promote the philosophy and objectives of the athletic program; to include adhering to and enforcing all policies and procedures outlined in the departmental handbook, as well as rules and regulations of the University, the governing sport conference, and the NCAA. Adhere to and follow all rules and guidelines of the NCAA and the University’s governing conference(s). Other Duties: Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to provide strength and conditioning programming to a diverse population of student-athletes. Ability to travel overnight, work nights, weekends and as needed. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of staff and student-athletes. Ability to resolve problems and answer questions related to strength and conditioning program. Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities. Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and written. Ability to drive a vehicle for the purpose of conducting university business and meet the criteria for operation of state-owned-vehicles – Policy 615 Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution A minimum of one year experience planning and leading strength and conditioning activity National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or other nationally recognized certification Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certified Valid driver’s license This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date. Desirable Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution Experience planning and leading collegiate strength and conditioning activity Experience working with NCAA rules and regulations Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this position is: $40,000 - $44,000 annually.
