What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Counsel - Servicing position at UWM?
THE GIG
The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for a variety of research and legal matters, as well as supporting the business from a compliance standpoint supporting all things Servicing. This role requires 100% onsite attendance in our Pontiac office.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Daily Administrative duties pertaining to the Legal/Compliance team
- Reviewing, monitoring, and summarizing new and updated laws and regulations relating to servicing
- Researching and analyzing law sources such as federal and state statutes and regulations
- Supporting with regulatory filings relating to servicing
- Assisting with managing company policies and procedures relating to servicing
- Assisting with Legal/Compliance trainings relating to servicing
- Performing clerical duties such as scheduling meetings and composing and typing routine correspondence
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Must Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree and Law Degree
- Have experience with mortgage servicing laws, regulations, and requirements
- Have experience performing legal research
- Have a commitment to continuous business improvement
- Be capable of working closely with internal clients and outside counsel
- Have effective planning, organizational and project management skills
- Be able to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
- Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Have excellent written and communication skills
- Have the ability to work independently
- Have critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
- Be self-motivated and able to work well in a team based environment
