Uwharrie Bank is seeking a peak-time Customer Service Representative (CSR/Teller) in its Rea Road (Charlotte) Office!

This position represents the bank in processing various types of transactions for customers, balances cash daily, makes referrals to other line of business within company and answers customer inquiries pertaining to various services.  This position directly influences the overall efficiency and service level of the retail services area.  Typically, this is an entry-level position, where little or no previous transferrable skills or experience are present (training required), or previous banking and/or cash handling experience will be considered.

This position is considered "peak-time" with a weekly schedule of 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (approximately 20 hours per week).

General Qualifications

 Knowledge:  High school graduate with familiarity of the Bank's products and services. Marketing and sales knowledge beneficial for making referrals.

Experience:  A minimum of one year of cash handling experience in a retail environment with proven math aptitude, is preferred. 

Skills:  Proficiency in math and/or accounting is preferred.  Well-developed human relations skills, ability to work in pressure situations under close supervision, and general administrative skills are necessary. Multi-tasking skills are preferred.

Scope of Decisions and Authority:   Upon completion of training, will be responsible for cash drawer and may issue bank checks up to a specified limit.  Customer Service Representative has a restricted check cashing limit.  Failure to cash checks for qualified Bank customers, or cashing checks without determining the financial responsibility of the customer could result in negative business impact.  Work is performed following established policies and procedures.
