The Community Resource Navigator AmeriCorps program is designed to strengthen student success by blending mentorship with access to essential resources. CRNs serve within schools to provide Social Emotional Learning support, helping students build self-confidence, develop leadership skills, and set achievable goals. They work closely with school leadership teams using attendance trends, behavior data, and staff input to identify students who may be at risk of chronic absenteeism or disengagement from learning.
Beyond direct student mentorship, CRNs play a vital role in supporting families. They connect parents and caregivers to school-based pantries, clothing closets, and donation drives, ensuring that basic needs are met so students can focus on learning. CRNs also serve as a bridge between the school community and local organizations, expanding access to services and support throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley. By addressing both academic and non-academic barriers, CRNs help create a school environment where students can thrive and families feel connected and supported.

Able to secure clearances to work with vulnerable populations (Act 153).
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Have a HS diploma or G.E.D.

- While serving, members receive a living allowance dispersed twice per month in addition to an education award at the end of successful service term.
- Service term is 8-months in duration. (starting November 1, 2025)
- 10-12hrs/week - 4 days per week - 3 hours per day
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.

- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop student goals to improve both social skills and student attendance.
- Facilitate and provide mentorship utilizing an evidence-based curriculums
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding school attendance and progress reports
- Connect families to resources through school-based pantries, clothing closets, and donation coordination.
- Plan and deliver educational/engagement events for parents
- Document and track progress
- Engage with community-based organizations to facilitate trainings and bridge gaps in access to services
- Participate in training and professional development to improve quality services for youth
- Participate in National Service events to support the local community Service Commitment
- Member responsibilities should not duplicate staff roles at host site
