Job Description The Department of Medicine, Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition, has an outstanding opportunity for a temporary Research Coordinator 3 to join their team. About this Opportunity Reporting to the Professor, the Research Coordinator 3 serves as a senior-level coordinator and subject-matter expert overseeing the implementation and execution of multiple complex clinical research studies in the lipid/cardiometabolic space under the PI Dr Subramanian. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiometabolic research. Key Responsibilities Research protocol management (60%): Independently provide operational oversight initiation and implementation of multiple concurrent clinical research protocols for PI. Align clinical activities with study protocols, including time-sensitive visit scheduling and sample shipment preparation. Ensure accuracy and integrity of research data through rigorous verification, audit preparation, and compliance monitoring. Take a lead role in preparing, submitting and maintaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation, including new applications, amendments, and continuing reviews. Participant management (30%): Lead strategic recruitment initiatives ensuring accurate eligibility screening in accordance with IRB and protocol-specific criteria. Recruitment, screening, and enrolling study participants who meet research criteria. Administration (10%): Serve as a key liaison to study sponsors and monitors, ensuring alignment with contractual timelines and expectations. Partner with fiscal staff to manage reimbursement workflows for participant expenses and study-related operational costs, ensuring timely and accurate financial stewardship. Collaborate with PI on other project management duties as assigned and proactively identify additional areas for support. Minimum Qualifications Applicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Manager. Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field and four years of relevant experience in clinical research. Additional Qualifications Experience in clinical research related to lipids and/or diabetes. Prior experience in an academic research environment. Prior clinical and laboratory research experience. Experience with project coordination. Experience with data collection for human health research. Knowledge of human subjects research, including study implementation, data analysis, regulatory compliance, and IRB processes. Demonstrated ability to work independently with flexibility and manage multiple clinical research protocols simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in all aspects of work. Team player with a positive outlook and the highest degree of professionalism. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with FDA regulations. Certification in Good Clinical Practices. Appropriate clinical research training including CITI, HIPAA. Strong proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system, knowledge of medical terminology.
