What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Clinician - Crisis Consult position at UW Health?
Work Schedule:
This is a part time, 0.8 FTE position. Shifts will be between the hours of 1200-2400. Days of the week to be discussed during interview but could include weekend shifts. Hours and days may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
Pay:
- Pay range is based on a full-time (100%) position.
- This position may be eligible for a $8000 sign-on bonus

Each person who enters the Emergency Department (ED) doors with a mental health crisis receives services meticulously tailored to their unique needs.
We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to:
- Prioritize creating an environment where patients feel valued and understood.
- Provide diagnostic assessment and treatment to patients and their families presenting to the Emergency Department and on the inpatient units with mental health crisis/concerns.
- Empower patients’ choices and respect their autonomy by being transparent and engaging them in every step of their care.
- Work closely with the Emergency Department team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Work closely with the Psychiatry Consult-Liaison and on-call Psychiatry teams on safety and admission-related decisions.

Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or other behavioral health related field Required
- 1 year of experience providing evidence-based treatments for a variety of mental health and behavioral diagnoses for children, adolescents, and adults Required
- 1 year of crisis management skills in hospital, clinic, or emergency department, crisis center counseling, Psychiatric Emergency Services, or Crisis Stabilization unit preferred Preferred
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Upon Hire Required or
- Licensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire Required or
- Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist Upon Hire Required and
- CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
