Work Schedule:
This is a part-time, 80% FTE, 1st shift position. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, varying start times between 7:45 AM and 9:00 AM, 8-hour shifts. Hours may vary based on department needs. You will float to the UW Health Clinics.
Pay:
- External hires may be eligible for up to a $2,000 sign on bonus
- Additional compensation components may include: float differential

We are seeking a Lab Assistant - Float to:
- Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
- Complete specimen receiving and processing, load them onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and associated instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing).
- Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.
- Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.

Education:
Minimum - High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred - Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program and clinical rotation
Work Experience:
Minimum - Six Months of Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Experience
Preferred - One year of experience in phlebotomy and processing
Certifications:
Preferred - Phlebotomist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent or Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
